Our Mission

To enhance the health
of the people of the
region by providing
accessible,
cost effective, quality
health services.

Our Vision
RAHH will lead the
region’s healthcare
system by engaging
consumers, communities,
physicians and other
professionals in
improving health and
quality of life.
RAHH will be seen
as “ours” by the
communities it serves,
by the consumers
and families it provides
care to, by the people it
employs and by the
physicians who provide
care here.

To achieve this
vision,
RAHH will:

Maintain and strengthen
confidence and pride
in RAHH by consistently
demonstrating the
quality of care that
patients, residents,
and clients expect.

Be flexible, accessible,
friendly and quality-driven
so that people of the
area choose RAHH.

Encourage the
community to play
a role in its
development so that
consumers, providers,
and the people of the
region remain central
to RAHH’s planning
and governance.

Key Values
We actively
look to the future.

We treat all with integrity
and respect, and
approach all we serve
as partners.

We foster the personal
growth of our employees,
physicians, and
other professionals.

We measure the results
of our work and
continuously improve
the quality of our
services on the basis
of that measurement.

We respect and nurture
the relationship between
providers and patients.

We provide cost-effective
healthcare services that
meet the needs and
exceed the expectations
of consumers.

We work closely
with physicians
to develop and sustain
mutually supportive
relationships that
effectively address
the health needs
of the community.

May Walk/Run raises funds in local fight against diabetes

Chilly weather conditions were not enough to deter these dedicated participants who joined the fight against diabetes at the 4th Annual May Walk/Run sponsored by Roseau Area Hospital and Homes.

Over 150 participants rushed past the starting gate at the annual May Walk/Run sponsored by Roseau Area Hospital and Homes. The chilly, overcast morning didn’t stop these enthusiastic community members who donated their time and over $4,500 in the fight against diabetes.

The morning began with a Lions Pancake Breakfast served by “the smiley guys” who took over the kitchen at the Four Seasons Center in Roseau.

“We appreciate the partnership formed with the Roseau Lions, who joined in promoting this event for the past three years,” said Deb Haugen, spokesperson for Roseau Area Hospital and Homes.

Over 150 participants joined the RAHH May Walk/Run.

RAHH sponsored free glucose checks all morning for anyone wishing to have their blood sugar level checked. In addition, the Roseau Area Diabetes Center had an informational display on hand to educate people about the seriousness of diabetes.

All funds raised by the event go to either the local Roseau Area Diabetes Center, the diabetes endowment within the RAHH Health Care Fund, or the American Diabetes Association.

The locally used funds provide educational tools, free glucose screenings, and assist hardship situations.

In addition to private donations, the event received contributions from Citizens State Bank and Border State Bank of Roseau, Roseau Eagles Auxiliary and match funds from Thrivent.

“Many people in our area are affected with diabetes. The ongoing success of the May Walk/Run demonstrates the dedication and support people have for friends and family members,” Haugen says.

If you were unable to attend the May Walk/Run and would like to give a donation, please contact Deb Haugen, Roseau Area Hospital and Homes Health Care Fund at (218) 463-4314.

Mark your calendar, the 5th Annual May Walk/Run will be Saturday, May 3, 2008!

Thank You to Health Care Fund donors

Donations to the RAHH Health Care Fund continue to arrive from philanthropists throughout Roseau County and beyond.

RAHH is thankful to the patrons listed below who have donated to the Roseau Area Hospital & Homes Health Care Fund from its inception through December 2006.

While funds have been raised through several projects, many health care fund donations have been given honoring the memory of a loved one.

Part of the successful memorial program includes the distribution of free sympathy cards and donation envelope.

Free sympathy cards are available at Roseau Area Hospital, the hospital gift shop, Greenbush Community Nursing Home, Sheltering Oaks Manor, and area funeral homes.

Donors can direct their tax-deductible gift to a designated area of the Health Care Fund. The current list of special funds includes the RAHH Hospice Fund, Maggie Adams Medical Equipment Fund, Sheltering Oaks Manor Fund, Greenbush Nursing Home Fund, Eagles Auxiliary Diabetes and Dialysis Fund, and a general endowment fund.

For more information or to make a donation, please contact Deb Haugen at (218) 463-4314.

The RAHH Health Care Fund is a component of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.
